Depigmentation through benoquin

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is doing great.

I am around 50% depigmented. I have vitiligo since the past 18 years. I decided to go for depigmentation and started using "benoquin" for the same two months back. I have some questions from anyone who has gone through this procedure.

It has been around two months and I see very slight change in the skin tone. How much time does it take to it get depigmented and how much time does it take to start seeing results clearly?

Also, for the past week I am suffering with extreme itchiness and my skin where I am applying the cream has gone very dry. Is this a normal kind of side effect? Has it happened with anyone else before?

Thanking you for your insights in advance. Awaiting your responses.

  • Can u order this cream without a Drs script
    • Hi Julie,

I think you need to get a prescription from a dermatologist. Please check with the American Vitiligo Research Foundation for recommendations etc, if you are thinking of going down this route.

  • Hi Niimisha,

I am currently going through the same (started end of January this year) and I am slowly seeing the newly depigmenting skin blending more with my Vitiligo patches. I understand it takes anywhere from 6mths to over 2yrs to get the desired outcome and you must be consistent and keep applying the creams.

I use an aloe vera lotion to calm my skin if it starts itching and apply coconut oil/olive oil either in the morning or evening (alternating with the Benoquin) to counteract any dryness.

I hope this helps you-and best wishes with your journey.

    • Thank you ish :)

I too finally started seeing results.

      all the best!

are you applying it to the whole body?

or are you getting depigmented part by part?

      • Hi,

I am applying it all over-bit wary about my face because of how hard it is to camouflage etc but taking it slowly.

I'm glad you're seeing results too!

I guess we just have to be patient!

        Ish x
