Here's a crazy thought.

It's all over the social media and the net that REFINED SUGAR (white sugar, high fructose corn syrup) suppresses the immune system.

So wouldn't it make sense that a sugary diet 'MIGHT" WORK in favor of suppressing the immune system if people with vitiligo have overactive immune system.  Wouldn't this work as disabling or hindering the immune system?

Kevin and others what are your thoughts?

Do we have any science majors or people with scientific or medical background?

thoughts please.  essentially pro topic and other creams are suppressing an immune system that wants to attack pigment cells....

Hey I'm not suggesting anyone go on a high sugar diet but I'm trying to understand this premise.

  • Lilli when u say better do mean less spreading or more re-pigmenting. It would be awesome if you could share pics .
    • Both!, I started getting the color back aroun my lips, which I lost some of it back because I started "cheating" on my diet... When I say cheating, I mean, I started drinking coffee, stoped my spinach smoothie and stoped excercising which im back on! Unfurtunately I dont have pics to show the before and after, but I will take some now that I decided to retake my regimen once again. Water!! Ppl  lost of water is the key as well!  I will start reading a book called Th PH Miracle that was recomended by someone,  is supposed to help you gain the balance in your sysment, through diet and the do's and dont's..

  • This is very interesting, becuase I have cut off all sugar  and increased greens in my diet and my vitiligo its getting better... If anything I will say stay away from processed food, speacially sugar!

  • hey i think sugar will do more harm than good, like it may help with vitiligo which im not sure of.. but it might add up to more problems. thats my personal opinion. rest, looking forward to some expert advice.

    • I definitely know sugar is not good for the body.  some people go as far as to say its TOXIC.  the biggest flaw in sugar is it immunosuppressant.  it wrecks havoc with the immune system.  so i was wondering what effect it would have in disabling the immune system in people with vitiligo.

I has thinking what are ways of repairing and slowing done a hyperactive immune system which some people claim people with vitiligo have.
