Turmeric - Good or bad for vitiligo? Share your story.

Turmeric has taken the world by storm and seems to be the next "Miracle drug" out there for people suffering from arthritis, inflammation, and a million other health issues. Even animals have shown amazing improvement when on turmeric. Supposedly Turmeric is also helping people with vitilito to re pigment their white spots by taking it internally and some people are also putting it on their white spots (tried that, way to messy. And it stains everything... no thanks!).

Has anyone been taking Turmeric, and had positive results?? Ive been doing research on what people are calling "Golden Paste" which is:

- Organic Turmeric powder

- Coconut oil (or Apple cider vinegar)

- Black peper

mixed together to form a paste, take 1/4 a teaspoon a day.

Would love some feedback. I know most supplements may work for 1 person, and may not the next so it comes down to how it affects you individually.

Thanks for sharing!

  • Hi I am using turmeric... I become vegetarian too and i exercise regularly. And as much as possible i avoid stress. Its working on me.
  • Hi Kevin,

I would be careful with tumeric intake since it stimulates specific immune response (Th2). One of the thesis is that autoimmune condition trigers when immune system goes out of the balance , precisely either Th1 or Th2 immune response becomes dominant. Vitiligo is taught to be a Th1 dominant, but as immunologists said this rule is not appliable to every person ( someone could be Th2 dominant and have vitiligo). If you don't know which response is dominant in your case, I think it is good to avoid it...
