Different Types of Vitiligo? Or Side Effects?

I've noticed a weird phenomenon. I started using Clobetasol about a week ago for inflammation of my skin. Now it seems that there's this odd bluish color on my skin where i used the medication small spot on front of shoulder. I noticed this has happened before on my upper arms where my vitiligo is, but it has long since disappeared. The blue color isn't super noticeable to anybody else but I can definitely tell. I know Vitiligo comes in all types of forms and ways is this normal? Will it go away?

  • It seems to be a side effect due to corticosteroids vasoconstriction .

Someone else has reported the same:  http://www.psoriasis.name/forum/topics/help-im-turning-blue

Talk to your doctor about a possible/temporary remission.

    • Maria, did you double check it?

      • I did take a look. I read up on different types of vit. Apparently there is a phenomenon of hyperpigmentation along with vitiligo that can sometime appear blue. Interesting.

        • Please send the links if you still have them.

          • It actually might be a good thing because it is due to hyperpigment coming back into the skin.

            • I had never heard about it.

              No opinion yet.

              Is it still blue?

              • It is not as blue as it was. It's bizarre. I was thinking maybe because its close to a tattoo the tattoo ink is bleeding? And I was even thinking scleroderma at first. I don't know haven't brought it up at the doctors yet.

          • Hey Flavio,

Here's one of the links to this issue I spoke about a few weeks back...
