Hi Friends,

I've just created this discussion to provide evidences (papers,  sources,  books, whatsoever) regarding the major role that physical traumas, friction, oxidative stress and MIA (melanoma inhibitory activity)  play in vitiligo disease.  They are the cause / consequence of the non-segmental vitiligo (effect).

Whoever is interested in, please let me know that I will provide all necessary medical papers.

Please only join this discussion if you really want to read the stuff.  Many thanks.

  • Thanks for initiating this interesting thread. Tenascins are associated with a range of diseases including brain and breast cancers, but not much is known about their functions. Tenascin-C for example is overexpressed in some tumor tissues and is a potential target for tumor therapy. It would be really interesting to see whether knocking down Tenascin-C has any effect on vitiligo lesions. This can be done using siRNA in animal models as reference 9 suggests. I am curious to know whether any research group has ever explored this possibility. This seems like a very interesting line of research.

  • This is a terrific service.  Thanks, Flavio.

  • Going to the second round, now it's time to talk in depth about melanocyte integrin. Please read Document 7 attached. The whole idea will be covered when we get to Document 12. Attachments:
