Getting rid of it!

I thought I should post this again. So here goes.

So once again, Vitiligo and low stomach acid.  Why hasn't my dr. told me about this!

To stop the de-pigmentation of your skin, Dr. Wright suggests you focus on correcting your digestion problem. (You can take a test to measure your stomach acid. But it is costly and most often not necessary, as most adults over 40 do suffer from low acid).

To boost stomach acid production, Dr. Wright suggests adding digestive enzymes as well as betaine hydrochloride to your regimen. Some companies package these two ingredients together to make it simpler. Look for a tablet that contains 500-600 mg of betaine hydrochloride.

To start, take two tablets midway (or towards the end) of your meals. If that doesn‘t seem to cause any reflux or heartburn, you may want to consider adding another tablet. Gradually, these nutrients will help train your stomach to produce more stomach acid on its own. And over time, you‘ll be able to wean yourself off the betaine and see if your body has become trained to maintain the positive results. (As a side note, brittle hair and nails can also signal low stomach acid, so you may notice improvements in both of those areas as well).

  • Hi Michele do/did you have Vitiligo? Have experienced or seen the results of the digestive enzymes+betaine hydrochloride on vitiligo?

  • Any info is appreciated.
    • please send me a message.  How have you kept at bay and under control for 30 years.  Bamsegutt is right about there being a million theories on what causes vitiligo.  i honestly think it is even more complicated than cancer.  of course not as fatal as cancer.

      • Hi shiva

I think it's only got to do with digestion nothing else. Do the supplements I recommend. I didn't recommend per se it was the work of one doctor.

Try it all. I don't even think of this vit anymore. Just eating healthily and exercising drinking water etc. you know.

        Michele
        • @michele Hambach have you managed to keep your vit stable or is it progressive?  my basic interest is to stop new patches from appearing and the existing ones from getting bigger.  recently i have seen a whole new crop patches which have grown big rapidly.

  • I would recommend everyone to read this book to gain enough knowledge about nutritional supplements.

  • Thanks for sharing ur experience..Are you saying adding supplements to boost the stomach acid has really helped you repigment?...after how long?

vitiligo is much more mysterious and complicated  than we think ..it s very individual   this theory may help some ppl  as the result of all treatment  varies from person to person..There are many theories out there ..some say it is the accumulation of oxidative stress on the skin which cause inflammation other say it is nervologi some kind of electro shock on cells... there are many many more theories  some say again adding omega 3 on your diet help ...some say avoiding this and that food help...Most of us has tried almost all theories and some times nothing work...some times some few improvment ..the good thing is that we try every thing til we repig fully and  we wont give up until we repig fully.

If it helps you.. this may help some of us too ..it is worth to try.
