vitamin D synthesis

This is the chemical process and "breakdown" of Vitamin D in all of our bodies.  HOWEVER, this process is broken in many of us!

Are you short on Calcium and Magnesium?  (With these, you will heat your hands and feet and nose!)

Vitamin D, synthesized properly, simply turns into the "active form" and creates a MEGA-receptor for Calcium & magnesium in your intestine.  It also sends PTH signal (thyroid) which helps mediated bone resorption[strong bones & estrogen regulation]. As well, in the kidney , it flushes [bad]Calcium ions and phosphate excretion[garbage disposal for the body].

SO...how can you figure this out and why is it important???  Most of us are deficient in Vitamin D.  Taking supplements WON'T HELP, unless this WHOLE process works!

Do you have Thyroid issues?  Liver issues? Kidney or adrenal issues?  You can supplement [take vitamins] for many of these chemicals, but find out where you need it!  Get your blood tested, ASK THE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS THAT YOUR DOCTOR PROBABLY WON'T!

Get a thyroid PTH test.

A Liver Enzyme test.

An Adrenal fatigue test.

A simple cheap answer.  Test your saliva or urine with a PH test.  Test strips are less than $2 on amazon.  Low PH (acidic) you need calcium.  High PH, too much calcium.

Does this help?  Does anybody care?  Let me know. Respond.  Reply.

Thanks,
Chris

  • I also hope people see the very first step our bodies reaction to sunlight.

7-dehydrocholesterol.  "cholesterol"  I think of all of the commercials about "bad cholesterol". But, it is essential that we have good cholesterol that can be synthesized.

The process it takes for our bodies to get that 7-dehydrocholesterol into our skin is only a complex 37 step process. This process is probably not working properly in our systems.

I haven't figured all of these steps, but I sure understand that healthy cholesterol is regulated through your LIVER. It is necessary to have healthy cholesterol since 50% of the cholesterol you eat is recycled back into your blood stream.

Another issue, plants create phytosterols and your body may accidentally use those instead of cholesterol.  Flax seed & peanuts have these.  (Another possible *fungal-plant link...my own theory not yet proven or disproven)

Eat good cholesterol and EXERCISE.  *Nobody yet knows why exercise helps cholesterol.  My belief is because the liver cleanses your cholesterol with the heat.  I picture cholesterol like a stick of butter.  UVB light turns it into a grease, exercise can do the same.  You're simply burning off the bad and keeping the good stuff.

Again a lot of these steps come back to the liver, I take a milk thistle vitamin above all of my other supplements.  The 6 months I didn't, I spread again. I have since been taking many many liver supplements and I exercise enough to sweat a couple minutes everyday.

Soda pop, alcohol, & pork for some reason are the worst for me.

  • I personally take pure Biotics Bio D Mulsion and drop it under my tongue or mix it in yogurt for a little one.

Again, if you need calcium & Magnesium, simply putting them through your intestine won't be enough.  Your body has to ABSORB it.

In many vit patients, our intestines have problems absorbing vitamins.  Refer to my prior posts on my beliefs about that.

This is why you need to take tests.  Tests can be expensive, unfortunately. But WELL worth it.  Decide to max out your deductible one year and get every test you can in the same year.  Figure out your out-of-pocket maximum and save up if you can.

That way, if your liver is off.  Take a liver enzyme.  I take Livaplex, a standard process vitamin prescribed by a PhD nutritionist.  It has Zinc chelate and Copper chelate.  Two things I now know my body was sorely lacking.

My thyroid was on the verge of hypothyroidism, I take Thymex another standard process vitamin prescribed.

I'm trying to make this entire process function in my body.  It probably wasn't at all or barely functioning for the last several years.  In the last 6 months, I have been making groundbreaking changes. My energy level has been through the roof.  I've not been sleeping as much but don't feel tired. It's like my body was working so hard to get the nutrients that when it finally did, it devoured them.  Still repigmenting slowly without the sun or UVB, I want the same for everybody in this group.

    • Thank you both, we have avoided blood tests do far due to her age but probably need to do this as you say.So pleased you have found something that is working for you, it 's very inspiring.
  • Thanks so much Flavio! This is so useful. Do you know if NAC is ok for a child?
    • I don't know.  You better ask a Doctor.

What I know is that Glutathione can be supplemented by Glycine, Glutamine and Cysteine.

Some of them exist in natural form  "L-"  and synthesized. "N-Acetyl"

It plays a big role in vitiligo breaking H2O2 in he skin, as well as Catalase does.

  • Very interesting, we have been supplementing with Vit D but not magnesium or calcium. Can you recommend some anti oxidants too? We had been using vitamin C, but I now see this isn't recommended. This is for my 5 year old, thank you.
  • Thank you Chris for the ph test, and mentioned about D. D is very important, Right before I had vitiligo, my D is only 20, the standard level is between 30 to 80, the doctor gave me a prescription for 50,000 IU once a week for a couple of month, now I am taking 4000 IU daily, the doctor said she wanted to push my D to reach 50. What kind of vitamin you suggest? GNC?
  • Dr. Ray D. Strand, MD,  oxidative stress specialist, recommends the following daily doses:

    Magnesium: 250-400 mg

    Calcium: 400-750 mg

    Vitamin D3: 1000 IU
