About Me:

Not too much to say. I've had vitiligo almost my whole life and have learned to live with it. I've had many lows, but have come through them. I have a great family and wonderful children. I am here to learn more about the advancement and treatment of this disorder, and what possibly to avoid chemically in the future for my family. My children have very sensitive skin, however, I do not want to trigger any outbreak of vitiligo if possible. I know enough to try to stay away from phosphates in cleansers. but I'm sure there is much more.

    Hi Joyce Welcome! I've had Vitiligo for 20 years now, grew up with it and have the same concerns about cleaners and such things. I've also have sensitive skin and allergies so it's tough finding good products.     Just wanted to welcome you and let you know that I too have worried about the harshness and chemicals in household cleaners and I have found a full line of cleaners from the makers of Clorox "Green Works". I have used all the cleaners and they clean great. Both of my children have been diagnoised with vitiligo. Each of them only have one small spot at this time...trying our hardest to keep it that way. Your profile photo is great. You can't even tell you have vit. Have you found any treatments or camouflage products to be helpful? Hope to hear from you soon. (By the way, my children are using a combo of topical steriods and Protopic and it does seem to be working slowly).
