About Me:

I am a public relations professional at a private university in Karachi, Pakistan. I developed vitiligo at the age of six or seven. Even though my father was a poor villager, he tried almost all treatment options available at that time or remedies advised by people. The disease spoiled my teenage life badly. It was very painful… the disease, poverty and hostile people pushed me deep into inferiority complex and depression. Once I thought about committing suicide. During those painful days, one day, I heard my inner being shouting: ‘Don’t give up! Fight!’ For the first time in my life, I was experiencing a communication between my body and my soul. I was shaking and crying – then I stood up and shouted back: ‘I wouldn’t give up! I will fight!’ And, without informing anyone, even my mother, I took my high school certificates and some samples of my calligraphic work and poetry – and headed to the district headquarter city, Hyderabad. All alone - again for the first time in my life. I returned back to my village late evening with a big smile on my face – I had got a job at a local newspaper! Since then, I never looked back. I completed my postgraduation while working parttime for the media. Then moved to Islamabad as a technical assistant at the Privatisation Commission, Government of Pakistan; then in Karachi as a reporter and also as a proofreader at a multinational advertising company - and now a public relations professional at a reputable private university. I have also done MBA in advertising and marketing recently. Remember, I was a poor villager. Studying at a university, working in a corporate environment and managing vitiligo was nothing but a dream. I manage my vit through UVB by visiting a hospital in Karachi, usually twice a week, and taking Babchi (Psoralea Corylifolia) seeds on working days. Don’t ever give up in your life. FIGHT!
