  • Hi Tammy (say hello to Jessica, too),
Sorry to be so long in getting back to you. I get the "Embracing Diversity" calendar every year. I love reading about the children, along with the parent's comments. Jessica is a beautiful young lady, as well as her sister. I have a sister a year younger than me, as well as an older sister. I had three brothers, too. No one in my large family had vitiligo. I never had the support that you are giving your daughter and it is wonderful that you all got involved in AVRF. My first vitiligo conference was life changing for me. My patches used to look much like what I see on Jessica, until I finally lost all my pigment. You were blessed to be the mother of your girls and it looks like you are doing an exceptional job of being an encouraging and supportive mom. God bless you all,
    Patty
    Keep hope alive!
  • Thanks for your story also! :) I am glad to hear her growing up with vit wasn't hard on her. That is my fear with my daughter. I just don't want to see her in any pain. We get questions here and there but summer is coming which is the time it seems her vit grows. I don't know if it's because she gets more sun and they become more visible? But always I dread it. Her spot on her face is already starting to get brighter and it's only May. :( It's so hard being mom, sometimes I think it's hard on me than her.
  • I'm so glad you found AVRF and us! We'll keep working hard to grow the network so that there's more opportunity to provide comfort and perspective to each other! (Hi, Jessica!)
